Patrick Higgins

It was a hot summer day when Patrick Higgins prepared a bacon and asparagus risotto and played a song from his Bachanalia project. This is a project in which Bach tempo interpretations are taken to a new level by putting live solo guitar performances through a digital delay pedal.
In addition to Bachanalia, Patrick composes other experimental chamber music and plays guitar in the band ZS.

Will Stratton

Red Hook, Brooklyn-based Will Stratton is currently on tour in Europe, which he's ecstatic about. Before leaving town and after finishing his new album he prepared these tacos and played a new song for us. The album uses the same quick finger-picking and voice base as this live performance, but it also has lots of strings and female vocals added in there. Here's an example:

Hopefully he's having a good time on tour and he doesn't miss his homeland of Zacatecas too much.

Jay Purdy

While Jay Purdy was playing a show with the Extraordinaires in Spain he took a little side trip to Italy. There he trekked for hours by train and on foot to finally arrive near-starved at the door of a family friend who had waiting for him this garlicky, onion-filled, capers-a-copious tuna pasta dish. It has held a special place in his palate since.
Jay's music with The Extraordinaires usually sounds a little more like this:

Little Fats

You may notice upon watching this video that Little Fats really isn't that fat. That's because a strict diet of Japanese east side grey noodles has helped him lose twenty kilograms. This is what he looked like before the diet:

He was apparently much angrier in his heavy days.
In this episode Little Fats prepares a quick egg salad dish and tells us all about his diet. Although he's playing a solo original song here, he usually plays standards joined by the Swingin' Hot Shot Party.

Tavo Carbone

Tavo Carbone picked up this recipe while on tour through the east coast. It's the kind of meal that spiky-haired reality show professional eaters would love to wrap their bloated faces around - smiling, gurgling, vomiting up soundbites like "Now that's a DAMNburger." This hamburger's delicious flavor works in direct relation with its artery-clogging grease.

Tavo usually plays with his band, Horse's Mouth, but for this episode he's playing alone. The song will be featured on the band's upcoming album, tentatively entitled Under the Moon.

Tan Man

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Ty Flowers and Mark Waksman of the Brooklyn-based band Tan Man prepare a meal and traditional Wampanoag beverage in honor of the pilgrims' first harvest in America. Prego.
The band is joined by Phil Nicolazzo on bass.

Here are some select demos from their upcoming demo folder on Ty Flowers' desktop:

Dropson

Dropson is a band that operates out of Vermont and Brooklyn composed of guitarist JJ Beck and jovial wood sprite Trevor Wilson. As solo musicians, both have traditionally made music using mainly piano to compose, so the current guitar-and-voice-only configuration is a departure from the usual for everyone involved.
The following track is from a 2009 live recording of Beck's piano compositions:

JJ Beck - Procession Piece

From Trevor Wilson's 2008 release Plants and Bodies:

Trevor Wilson - Little Princess

Here, the band prepares a hearty, garlicky chicken with vegetables at their Brooklyn apartment and performs the song "Rise" from their upcoming debut album.
